Kylie Jenner might not be that rich, but she’s doing all great.
Kylie Jenner, who found herself become a bit of a punchline last week when Forbes reported she lied about her wealth, is nonetheless the highest-paid celebrity in the world, according to the magazine’s annual accounting of the fortunes of the famous.
Forbes rolled out its top 100 highest-earning celebrities list Thursday. In the past year, Jenner, 22, clocked in with $590 million, beating out music star Kayne West ($170 million) and tennis legend Roger Federer ($106 million).
The magazine reported last Friday that Jenner, previously thought to be a billionaire, had misrepresented the value of her cosmetics business. The reality TV star responded quizzically on social media after the Forbes investigation.
Jenner chirped, “what am I even waking up to. I thought this was a reputable site.. all I see are several inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol. I’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER.”

The beauty icon expressed dismay at the magazine’s allegations and use of the phrase “likely forged,” about her tax filings: “that’s your proof? So you just THOUGHT they were forged? like actually, what am I reading.”
Forbes claims the now-millionaire misled Coty into buying 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics in a deal that valued it at $1.2 billion even as her business kept falling in recent years.
Data from e-commerce firm Rakuten reportedly suggests a 62% decline in her company’s online sales between 2016 and 2018. But experts who spoke with the magazine believe Jenner’s company was never as big as her publicity-hound family claimed to begin with.
“You have to remember they are in the entertainment business. Everything in entertainment has to be exaggerated to get attention,” Jeffrey Ten, a former executive at Calvin Klein Beauty and other cosmetic companies, told Forbes.
The magazine on Friday put Jenner’s wealth at just under $900 million.
